Thanks, everyone
Found an Algernon Lacey mentioned in a book, "Letters to my children" by David Roberts, where he is described as an enormous black sousaphone player (the player was black, not the sousaphone).
Well, I knew he could play the piano...

Thank you [belatedly] for my birthday wishes everyone! Unfortunately I was locked out of the new forum for a bit, probably due to some password 'thingy' going into spam & me getting confused, lol. How is everyone? Feels like I'm starting all over again...deja vu, deja vu, echo, echo...

Hi, OzB. Glad KK has sorted your password issues: we're all finding our way about the new board. I rather like it: I feel much safer ticking boxes and pressing 'go' on this one compared to the last one.

Welcome back again OzB - I was wondering why you had not been posting anything. I changed my password when we started the new Forum and I can never remember it.

Re: The Chat Thread
Thanks for the welcome back! I'm still getting used to the [slightly] new bells & whistles, but will get there eventually. I may be a bit sparse in my postings in the short term, as I am currently undergoing some new medical treatment, which is playing havoc with my 'spare time' [as I fall asleep at the drop of a hat, lol]...but when the mood strikes I am looking forward to catching up with all the wonderful threads & re-visiting many of the stories, some of which I have not seen as yet.
P.S. Do we have to work hard to get our promotions again? Flying school, taxiing & swotting up the books all night here I come, lol.

Yes, unfortunately were all demoted back to the beginning, but if you have time and are willing to copy over any old threads, your post count will leap forward.
Check out the "reposting" thread to see what we're up to.
Good luck with the medical stuff!

I have quite successfully not thought of sousaphones for years, thank you EFR. I wonder if he was named after our Algy Lacey?elderlyfemalerelati1 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 9:20 amThanks, everyone
