"St Dunstans," Biggles declared a second later when something flashed into his head. "I've never mentioned St Dunstans at all."

'You can make a donation shortly,' chided Granny genie. 'Wait for the money to reach you first.'

'Thank you.' Biggles bowed and kissed her hand which gratified her enormously. 'Is there anything we can do for you?'
'Major Bigglesworth,' said von Stalhein coldly, 'there are times when I seriously wonder if you were created by the devil just to annoy me.'

"I doubt it," Grannie Genie smiled,"but you never know. We shall have to be getting back, I'm afraid. We don't like to leave the cave unguarded too long."

'How will you get back?' Biggles asked curious as usual. 'Will I have to post you there?'

'Can I take Jeannie out for the night before you go?' Algy wanted to know.
'Major Bigglesworth,' said von Stalhein coldly, 'there are times when I seriously wonder if you were created by the devil just to annoy me.'

Granny laughed and wagged a scolding finger at Algy. "No, to both of you," she replied.

"Thank you for your kind offer, Inspector Bigglesworth, but we'll just activate our automatic locator stimulator and the lamp will relocate to the cave immediately. As for you, young man," she turned to Algy, "I can assure you that the only way you'd be allowed to take Jeannie out for the night would be with her father and brother as chaperones." She winked at him and vanished back into the lamp leaving a slight vapour trail behind.

Biggles, Ginger, Bertie exploded into laughter at the expression on Algy's face.

Biggles shrugged and grinned. 'I don't know. And you know what? We'll never know if something would have happened anyway or if it was because of Granny Genie.'

They all turned to look at the lamp. For a few seconds it became transparent. There, inside, they could see the whole family, lined up, with Jeannie and her sisters at the front. The family waved and the lamp began to fade. A puff of smoke appeared and formed the single word 'Farewell'.

Biggles, Algy, Ginger, Bertie and Dizzy waved back as the lamp faded away.
'Maybe they'll visit again one day,' Algy said hopefully. 'I'd have liked to get to know the girls better.'
'Major Bigglesworth,' said von Stalhein coldly, 'there are times when I seriously wonder if you were created by the devil just to annoy me.'

"Hey, I've just realised," Ginger nearly shouted."Our stuff is still in the cave and our plane is parked outside."

The phone rang just then. It was a very confused Smith, asking if they’d come home early.

He’d gone to the pub for a pint and come back to find their plane parked in the hangar.
"For goodness sake stop that Yankee drawl, or you'll have us all doing it before you've finished."
"OK baby - sorry - I mean, righto."
"That's better."

And all their kit was in it.

"Yes, we had a bit of luck and were able to wrap it up," Biggles informed him, hugely relieved. "We'll come over later and sort it all out."

"I had a quick look at it," continued Smyth. "I must say you've looked after it extremely well for once. It looks as if it's just had it's latest hundred hourly."

"We had a bit of time on our hands," Biggles prevaricated.

"I've never seen one of our machines come back in such good condition," continued Smyth enthusiastically. "It's as if it's just come straight from the manufacturer - all the gauges are in pristine condition, and as for the engines, well, I have to say that words fail me!"

"Well, just occasionally, we do manage to pull something out of the hat," Biggles smiled at Smyth's enthusiasm, "But I wouldn't expect it all the time."

Yes, and well done, everyone. This was a fun one that managed to stay relatively on topic!

Well done. I think this one might get revisited at some point. I have ideas.
