Biggles in the Mato Grosso

Post by kylie_koyote » Wed Nov 21, 2018 7:02 pm

I found this on eBay today. It's in Dutch (I think!).

Given the title, I would think it would be "Cruise of the Condor" but the illustrations show a beautiful female.

Has anybody got a copy of this and would like to give their thoughts and opinions?

On further inspection, there are a couple more titles in this series:

"In het Verre Oosten" (in the Orient?)

"De Valschermspringers" (no idea here.)

"ontvoering in Thailand" (It appears someone has a jetpack!)

I did a little delving and found some entries for some of these books I. English.

Biggles der Valschermspringers -

How interesting! These sound like decent plotlines, and I wonder if Col. Lottison is supposed to be replacing Raymond, or if it is indeed Lord Lottison from "Biggles - Air Commodore"?

It's interesting that Biggles appears by himself and none of his usual friends and comrades appear to do so? Or perhaps they're just not mentioned in the synopses.

Gobsmacked and lost for words. I daren't Google the rest.
'Major Bigglesworth,' said von Stalhein coldly, 'there are times when I seriously wonder if you were created by the devil just to annoy me.'
