Welcome back HC! I am so glad you've made it. I was concerned because I tried to email you and it bounced back.

Thanks to KK's e-mail, I've found our home. Registration took a bit of time though - the Captcha thing took at least a dozen attempts before it accepted I was me and not a bot!

Thanks to VZ and all the team for their hard work.

Yay! Welcome back Myles. I'm glad you got my email. Several members bounced back :(

Hopefully that will weed out the Russian spambots!

Not really. We've all been working to transfer posts over from the old forum, especially Kismet. Every time we copy a single post over it counts.

I know, who on earth came up with the idea of those things? In the end I did it based on what I thought it ought to be.

It took me 4 goes before I got one I could even attempt to read, and even then I had to guess half of it. These things are always a pain, but this is the most difficult one I've ever seen!
I suppose we can take it as character building... ;)

Just checking your code-cracking abilities before we let you in. 8-)

I've started copying and pasting over some of the threads about the individual books. Anybody else is welcome to pop in and do the same, please just PM with with which ones you're doing so we don't duplicate work.

If you want to re-post, which would be very welcome, then there's a re-posting thread! it's under Chat.

Hello, 266 on line again. After some struggle I have registered as a new member and it seems to have worked. Hoping all our previous conversations and photos have survived the transition...might take a while to work through them all again! Greetings to all as you pass through the stargate to the new site. Look forward to catching up with you all.

We are in the process of transferring them, 266. It's a long slog, as each individual post has to be copied and pasted. So some of them, I'm afraid will be lost, but we're transferring as much as we can.

Welcome home!

I have copied over all of my stories and now I’m working (slowly) on copying over the threads in the Book Collecting section.

The photos haven’t been tackled yet. We’ll get there eventually.

I haven't got round to adding a gallery yet. Most of the 2 gigs size of the old forum was stupidity big pictures. Seems there is no good gallery extension now. Maybe I should add a 3rd party one?

Thanks VZ for getting the forum up and running and moderators for your hard work and dedication transferring messages over! I have also enjoyed reading intros by members who joined this forum long before I did and whose original intros I'd never seen. The old forum went down just as I was in the thick of deadline season so I took some time joining the new one... had to catch up on about a week of sleep first.

Are all the compulsory fields we entered during the registration process visible to public? I felt a little... exposed and went back to edit answers a little! I don't seem able to select what appears and what doesn't?

Once again, thanks all, for all your hard work.

Welcom in out of lurk mode :) Thanks to the team in general for making this the biggles forum again. Yes, all the fields are public, I better say that in the registration screen!

Hooray we have got our ranks back. As Biggles said to Wilks in Sgt. Bigglesworth we will have to start again at the lowest rank and work our way up.

You can use space on my host? Don't think that needs up to date phpBB, does it? Just for pictures?

A picture tells a thousand stories. It would be nice to have the gallery back if possible.

I'm willing to manually input our old pictures into posts on this forum if necessary, (over a period of time of course). Or people could do it themselves. In future people can attach pictures to posts instead of uploading them to a gallery. We just have to have a 'how to' guide.
