We usually fly from Gatwick Airport.
Apart from other places in and around London, thats all I can boast :P

I can add a couple....easy one first up...I live in Perth Australia (so Biggles in Australia).

Have also been to Malaysia so that covers Biggles and the Blue Moon but perhaps the most interesting is that last year I took the family to Kota Kinabulu (part of Borneo) so that would cover Biggles in Borneo.

What a great idea it would be to visit all the places Biggles has been to...sounds like a great bucket list!

The first step towards that would be trying to remember where he went during the course of nearly 100 books - quite a task but I am sure we can manage it between us.

What a great idea! Hope you have plenty of "virtual" pins (lol).

I've always wanted to create a map with the locations visited by Biggles in all of the books :P

Would be a massive task though :booky: especially with some of the *cough* made-up locations.

Brilliant. Are we adding places we have been that Biggles has been, or just places Biggles has been?

Both - we want to find out who has been where Biggles has been and where Biggles has been as well.

So different coloured pins, then. One for Biggles and one for us. Should be really interesting. Borders and countries have changed such a lot.

So who is officially taking on this project? And about the pins, will Biggles have blue ones, and us... pink, green, or what? ;)

Gosh that was very, very dangerous if I remember right Biggles and Bertie had to beat a very hasty retreat.

I've tried to add a handful of places that Biggles and I have both been. I made these pins green. I hope I did it correctly. If so, I will keep going as time permits.

For purposes of this map, are we counting having been to the same country or the same city? Because Canada and Mexico are countries I have visited, but I don't think I was in the same part as Biggles. What's the general consensus on this?

I think it's got to be fairly close. I haven't counted the Scottish Highlands yet because I haven't matched a location exactly (I'm sure I'll spot one eventually). I'm not counting Spain because I haven't been to the same part.

What does everyone else think.

I think it should be the same city, or failing that because said city is fictional, as close as one could reasonably be.

I agree with KK. Otherwise I could add another ten pins to my map.

Does the city Paris count? If so, could somebody add it for me? Thanks. I don't know how to edit that link, J349, and I don't want to mess anything up...

This was an interesting project

I've added Paris (AA) and Barcelona (me).

I would also like to add that I think it should be anywhere that Algy, Bertie, or Ginger go too - not necessarily just Biggles. I'm going to add Athens (Bertie and Ginger in "Special Case") too.

Thanks for doing that! If we each add every time we read a Biggles book, we should get the full picture pretty soon. I am reading Biggles flies East. I suspect some places have changed their names, so may need to do a little research.
