"I say, old warrior, can you cut through the red tape and mount a rescue mission?"

Re: Algy gets Married. A never-ending rpg part 8

"Not until you've been seen by Doctor," nurse retorted sharply, looking down her nose with complete disapproval. The bystanders in the adjoining cubicles were listening avidly. This was juicier than anything they ever read in the weekly gossip sheets: a real Lord who'd been in a right punch-up, spor...

Re: Biggles and the Fast Track Trainee

He spoke with the psychiatrist for several minutes, wording his questions carefully. His eyes were narrow and his brow furrowed as he hung up, fingers tapping thoughtfully on the desk. The psychiatrist would see Horace. Horace's uncle was fairly certain his suspicions about Bigglesworth were correct...

Re: Meanwhile, in Australia.....

That's interesting. I had no idea you had problems with ticks at all!! Shows my ignorance, doesn't it? My son had one on the back of his neck that went undetected for over a week (he was 20 and past the age of my checking behind his ears). It was very nasty and had to be lanced by the doctor...

Re: Meanwhile, in Australia.....

I read a report of the "bluebottles" and it said they were jellyfish. And they give a painful sting. Had one wrapped around my hand whilst in the surf at Coolangatta many, many years ago. Fortunately the Lifesavers were prepared and doused me with vinegar. Here's a bit of a different snake tale. Ha...

They didn’t find a market place. But they did find a huge open air auditorium shaped area. There were stages all around the walls, with small seating areas in front of each. Each stage held various magician’s props.

Re: The Faraway Tree Again

In fact, the town now appeared to surround them. They gazed in fascination at the curious architecture. How did one determine what were real doors, wondered Biggles as he gazed at walls adorned with uninterrupted rows of door shaped timber panels, of riotously competing hues, all adjoining one anoth...

Re: Christmas in Mount Street - Reposted.

“You will take your medicine like a true Christmas Elf,” stated Mrs Claud grimly. SHe pushed the humbug into Elphino’s mouth and held it firmly shut. The elf squirmed and screwed his face up in obvious distaste.
