Re: A Biggles movie revival?

This may be slightly, well, very :offtopic2: but from what little experience I have, it seems that books and films/TV series cater to very different audiences. I've seen many movie/TV adaptions of books that made me wonder if the scriptwriters had ever come in contact with the original written mater...

Re: Algy Takes A Hand

Algy Takes A Hand (con.) The rest of the weekend passed without incident. Ginger stayed in Algy’s flat and studied for his exams, then duly departed Sunday evening to catch the train that would take him back to the flying school in time for Monday morning lessons. Algy, true to his word, kept the a...

Algy Takes A Hand

The door to the Honorable Algernon Lacey’s flat slammed open with a bang and a gust of wind. Algy, sitting in the armchair just opposite the fire, glanced up with annoyance and caught sight of a flash of ginger hair. “How many times have I told you—" he began irately, only to break off as his visito...

Bit worried for our Bertie as the title does say ghost story, but very interested nonetheless.

How on earth does Biggles keep fit?

Following on a bit from the thread about Biggles' physical strength, how on earth does Biggles stay fit? As far as I can tell, he (and Algy and the others, more or less): 1. Smokes like a chimney 2. Drinks like a fish 3. Has never been seen to do much in the way of exercise 4. Eats a lot of carbs an...

Re: Biggles Forum is costing too much

No, that would be against Googles terms, to falsely produce clicks. If you were interested then it's different. But they say quite clearly to encourage clicks for the perpose of profit is wrong use of it. I think it means that you can't specifically say on the site to click on the ads, but if we ha...

Re: Who Reads the Papers?

In Rescue Flight Biggles says he was sent a newspaper about a raid he was in, which was how he found out about Thirty and Rip running away, making me wonder if he has a little "me book" somewhere under his bed that he gets out every once in a while to feel smug over....

Re: Biggles Forum is costing too much

Were you running some ads before, VZ? I saw a couple a few days ago. Maybe we can figure out something ad wise and see how that works out as it might be a better long term solution compared to donations.

Re: Who Reads the Papers?

I imagine newspapers were the equivalent of surfing the internet aimlessly in the day. A form of entertainment. Otherwise he pays a clippings service to collect newspaper articles of interest to him, perhaps because he isn't reading them in the papers himself or perhaps because he doesn't want to mi...

Re: Old hosting

Will the forum and all its content vanish forever, or will there be some way to still access the stuff on it from another address? I understood SJ had the forum on her host server (which has been paid up for a few years?)

Re: For the attention of von Zoyton

I haven't noticed any difference on my end, which is surprising since I assume the servers and stuff are in the UK and therefore would work better there than overseas.

Hi, VZ and / or Soppy. We can now upload attachments Thank you, but KK has been looking at sending attachments in PMs. I tried to do so and apparently both JPEG and PNG are not allowed extensions. So what is allowed?

Love Snoopy, by the way, Soppy.
